Here’s the latest.Clemson announced this morning that five-star freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence will be starting on Saturday against Syracuse. Lawrence had played extremely well in backup duty during the season’s first four games. There are now transfer rumors swirling for Bryant, who could use the NCAA’s new redshirt rule, sit out the rest of the season and play elsewhere in 2019.The timing of this announcement from Dabo Swinney – if you play more than four games, you can’t redshirt – has people at least wondering about the possibility.ESPN college football writer David Hale addressed the idea:“Seeing some folks talking about a Kelly Bryant transfer. Because of the four-game rule, he could potentially redshirt and transfer. Fair to wonder if the timing of Dabo’s decision took that into consideration, but I tend to think it’s more than TL looked so good vs GT,” he wrote.Seeing some folks talking about a Kelly Bryant transfer. However, this is all pretty speculative.Lawrence had just played really well, and it’s possible Clemson will continue to use Bryant and his dual-threat abilities.Stay tuned.last_img
