UWF in third place after first day of Ross Resorts Invitational

first_imgSeptember 14, 2015FULL RESULTSSouthern Pines, N.C. – The University of West Florida women’s golf team sits in third place after the first 36 holes of the Ross Resorts Invitational hosted by Rollins College at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club. UWF is at +50 as a team, currently behind South Region opponents Rollins and Barry, which sit at +40 and +46, respectively.The Argos moved up one spot after the first round, after shooting a 316 (+28) in the morning, and posting a 310 (+22) in the afternoon session.Elin Olsson (Mantorp, Sweden/Bildningscentrum Facetten) and Paloma Vaccaro (Asuncion, Paraguay/Colegio Lumen) were the high finishers for UWF after the first two rounds of play, with each carding a +10. Olsson, a senior, posted identical rounds of 77 on Day 1, while Vaccaro followed a first-round 76 with a 78 in the afternoon.Junior Lauren Lamm (Punta Gorda, Fla./Daytona State) shot an 83 in the first round, and jumped 11 spots on the leaderboard by shooting a second-round 78, finishing the day tied for 32nd.Newcomer Fabiana Salazar made the biggest jump for UWF by shooting a 77 in the afternoon and finishing tied for 41st, moving 19 spots up the leaderboard.
