Meralco plans to finish off Star

first_img[av_textblock size=’18’ font_color=” color=”]MANILA – Meralco Bolts aims to get the first PBA Governors’ Cup finals seat when it faces Star Hotshots tonight in Game 3 of their best-of-five semifinals at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.Bolts moves on the cusp of returning to the finals after a lopsided 98-74 win over Hotshots on Tuesday night. It also won the series opener on Sunday 72-66.But Meralco import Allen Durham believes closing out Hotshots, which is expected to give its all to force Game 4, will not be easy.“We can’t get too excited,” said Durham. “We’re sure Star is going to come back, and they’re fighting for their season, so we got to make sure we handle business on Thursday.”“That’s (sweep) the plan, so we’ll see,” added the reigning Governors’ Cup Best Import awardee. “Thursday’s going to be a battle. I already know it. We just got to finish them off early.”But Hotshots is not going to throw in the towel just yet.Head coach Chito Victolero said they will be go all-out, especially that they will play for the remainder of the series without injured star Paul Lee.“This is not yet over. We need to win (all) three games,” said Victolero. “We still have a chance. We just have to take it one game at a time.
