An ongoing series of roadblocks has placed preparations for the Dominica State College examinations on hold. That is according to Public Relations Officer of the Dominica State College, Monelle Alexis.According to a notice from the school’s website, classes were cancelled from 12:00 pm on Wednesday, following road blockage at Stockfarm along the road leading to the college campus.Meanwhile, exams are intended to proceed as scheduled on Tuesday, 9th December. An official message will be issued should there be any developments affecting the exam schedule.Alexis informed Dominica Vibes that this initiative was taken with the students’ safety in mind.Alexis stated, “It was determined that the continuous blockages of the nation’s highways, which prevents students coming to classes, places students under significant stress as they review their work and prepare for exams which begins on Tuesday 10th December 2019.She continued, “President of the college, Dr. Donald Peters, said that under the current circumstances where students on their way to school are made to turn back because of blockages, the college had no choice but to suspend classes in order to minimize the stress and anxiety levels that the students have expressed and to ensure their safety.”Students are asked to remain at home to prepare for examinations and visit their Orbund Communication Programme and the DSC social media site for further updates.Fire and ambulance services have since quenched that fire at Stockfarm.  Blockages and a few other areas including Newtown and Layou have also been cleared.last_img
